Found a Bargain..

The other side of my craftiness ,is quilting , sewing, etc.. To my utter delight when shopping at our local St Vinnies Store, my DH spotted this little beauty.... I have always wanted an overlocker, but $500 for a new model , well it was on the wish list LOL..

Not any more this was only , are you ready for it? $40.00..................... I couldn't pass it by... and now all I have to do is work out how to thread it.. Thankfully I have a friend who is very wise when it comes to machines of the sewing kind.. and I know I will have all the help I need..

Hexigon rug

Hello everyone I hope you have had a great  weekend.
I have had computer problems,  as you can see I still have a few to iron out. Not being comp lit, I have to rely on my other half to help out ..

Like the heading suggested, I have been crocheting hexagons together, using that lovely Lacy look.. I couldn't be more happier.. so easy to do I am loving it.. Here is a pic of what I have crocheted so far..
3 more rows should see it finished..:))

Two down One to go..

White and Cream Baby Granny Shawls.
What Joy to have completed these two projects before Christmas.. :) I was starting to panic  just a bit and now I can breathe a little easier..
The border pattern is an easy one to follow, although once again I have changed it to suit me..  Its a Panda Yarn Family Circle book, first published in 1990 in Aust.
The cream shawl has 46 rows and only two of the 4 rows indicated in the pattern. This one will wings its way to Queensland :)
The white shawl has all 4 rows of edging. Both Shawls were crocheted with 4.50mm hook.
White in 8ply baby yarn and the cream in , wait for it, Patons Smoothie DK. I thought this would be a better choice for the hot weather, and much easier to clean than wool ..
Now I can get back to finishing other UFOs .. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for stopping by, I hope you will leave a message, I love reading them..:))

Lizard in my garden

can you see the lizard on the basket?
What a beautiful day it has been.. The last few have been a preview of what summer is going to be....... I come alive when the sun comes out, and I don't want to stay indoors..
So much to do in the garden, lovely walks to the river for a picnic and maybe a photo or two..
I did manage a pic or two after mowing the
grass.. and turning over a new garden , I am planting Calendula on mass, not just for the beautiful colour of orange , but because Tina and I make a salve from it..
A few flowers in my garden.

I have made a couple of small Christmas stockings for a Friend
who will post them on to a crochet charity..
